BRISBANE BOXING

Brisbane Boxing originated at West End Boxing gym when brothers Khuram and Kamran Nasir, former several times boxing champions took over the boxing club in feb 2010.
The West End Boxing Gym was established in May 1991 by Harry Costi and Paul Rees .
This old school gym continued to thrive after change of ownership by the Nasir brothers and became a popular boxing gym attracting amateur and professional boxers, students, athletes, sporting teams, corporates, mums and dads and many others.
In August 2011 Brisbane Boxing expanded to the South Side opening a larger, more contemporary style boxing gym located in Mt Gravatt, boasting six boxing rings, 76 boxing bags, weights area, kettlebells and strength conditioning area.
The West End branch is less than 2km from the Brisbane CBD and the Mt Gravatt boxing club is centrally located on the South Side and just 2minutes from Garden City Shopping centre and 10 minutes from Brisbane City.
The West End boxing club is well known in the sporting world where celebrity boxers either trained or sparred at the club including: Anthony Mundene, Craig Petersen, Ricky Thornberry, Sam Soliman, Stephen Edwards, John Mugaby, Doug Sam, Brian Jansenn, Daniel Rowsell, Paul and Nathan Briggs, Mr Johnny Lewis, former world amateur champion Galib Jafarov from Kazakhstan and the entire US amateur team from the 2001 Goodwill Games that were held in Brisbane.
Other sports people to have used the gym include: Cricketers Michael Kasprowicz, Wade Seccombe, Rugby League players Darren Lockyer, Mal Meninga, Justin Hodges, Wendell Sailor Rugby Union players Totai Kefu, Sam Cordingley, Berrick Barnes and Swimmer Suzie O'Neill.
